Aquilla Ridley Green, 94, of Pumpkintown Community passed away Thursday, July 31, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her family, after a period of declining health. She was a native and life long resident of Jackson County.

Aquilla was born to the late William and Minnie Wilson Ridley. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Lester Lloyd Green; infant son, Theodore Green; siblings, J.T. Ridley, Priscilla Franks, Kathleen Browning, and Eunice Ashe. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church; being the oldest living member at the time of her death. She loved her church and church family, and singing in the choir. She loved working in her greenhouse and her flower gardens. She loved wheel of fortune, doing search-a-words, and playing solitaire on her computer.

She is survived by her children; Lloyd Green, Gloria Jane Rogers (Bobby), Frankie Green Hyatt, Marilyn Betts, all of Sylva; grandchildren, Lynne Carpenter (Adam), Vicki Rogers, Tina Stogner, Allan Hyatt (Gail), Phillip Hyatt (Nancy), several great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Magdalene McMahan, Merle Ridley (Connie), Harriet Angel (Steve), Dale Ridley (Angela), Dewey Ridley (Diane), John Ridley (Rebekah), Polly Crunkleton (Ken), June Smith(Carrol), and Aletha "Ekie" Rish (Bruce).

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 2nd from 3-5pm at Macon Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Sunday, August 3rd at 2pm at Zion Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Eddie Stillwell and Rev. Mark Bishop will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
