October 10, 1965-October 21, 2023
Angelia (Angie) Lea Jones Beam died at home on Saturday October 21st, 2023, after several months' convalescence following brain surgery and a resulting stroke. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Steve Kilby. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Rev. David Beam of Franklin, N.C.; stepson, Andrew Beam (Katelyn), of Georgetown, S.C. Her parents Glenn and Brenda Jones of Bryson City, N.C.; siblings, Cenda Dickey of Bryson City, N.C., and Mark Jones (Brooke) of Whittier, N.C.; Aunt Lynda Spivey of Asheville, N.C.; nephew, Gavin Jones (Felicia) of Chandler, N.C.; nieces, Abbey Brown and Sarah Brown of Bryson City, N.C.
Angie is a 1983 graduate of Swain County High School and graduate of Southwestern Community College where she earned a degree as paralegal. She worked in law offices in Jackson and Macon counties and was consummate in her attention to detail. Family was everything to Angie and she loved nothing better than hugging her Papaw, laughing with her parents, joking with her siblings, and being a doting aunt to her nephew and nieces. She was a loving wife and best friend to her husband and will be sorely missed by her church family in First UMC Franklin, N.C. Angie valiantly and ferociously battled stage IV breast cancer since 2017. She was always positive, inherently funny, tenacious, and fierce, and always grateful and loving to all who came to know her. She is now free from suffering, made whole through Christ, and dancing with joy around the throne of God.
Her Memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, Franklin, N.C. at 3:00p.m. on Sunday October 29, 2023, with a reception to follow in Memorial Hall. The Reverend Margaret Freeman, Vicki Lawrence, and Rev. Marty Pressley will be officiating.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Franklin, N.C., or the Hospice House Foundation of WNC, PO Box 815, Franklin, NC 28744.
