Obituary

Angela “Angie” Moody Tye, 59, formerly of Franklin, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

Born in Panama City, FL, she was the daughter of the late Paul Moody and Allie Justice Moody. Angie is survived by her husband of 38 years, Charles J. Tye, Jr. “Bo Tye” of Toney, AL; three children, Paula Tye of Charlotte, Victoria “Tori” Tye McKay (Gabe) of Franklin and Charles “Chuck” Tye, III of Fayetteville, TN; two grandsons, Tytus and Tucker McKay; her father and mother in-law, Charles and Betsy Tye of Surprise, AZ; one brother, Victor Moody (Wanda) of Franklin and two nieces, Allie and Sarah and their families. She also leaves behind her furry companion, Swanson.

Angie selflessly dedicated her entire life to her family; supporting her husband as a military wife, raising her children and raising special pets throughout her lifetime gave her purpose and brought her joy. She had many creative hobbies throughout the years and as a talented seamstress she sewed, crocheted and knitted for countless hours making blankets, stuffed animals and clothes for everyone she loved. She also enjoyed Pysanky egg decorating, painting and was a wonderful cook who instilled her love for cooking into her children. She loved watching old-school shows on TV and considered Mary Tyler Moore, Andy Griffith and The Walton’s some of her best friends. If you knew Angie, you knew she loved her animal companions more than anything. Step for step, they were by her side until her last days with us. We would always joke that the dogs thought they were “hoomans” because they would sit next to her on the couch and everyone else was actually sitting in their seat. She would talk to them like they were an old friend and we have no doubt that she has found each of them already in heaven and there couldn’t have been a more joyful reunion. Her family will miss her “spunk” and the world won’t be the same without her sending scathing emails to companies that provide horrible service or products; she was passionate about letting people know if they weren’t doing right. We joked and laughed together through the good and the hard times and we will continue to remember the good. Angie will be missed tremendously and life most certainly won’t be the same without her.

The family has spent the last week together at home mourning, celebrating and remembering the person that Angie was. To honor her memory and wishes, there will be no formal services. We request that those who knew and loved her also take time to do what she loved most; be with those you love, eat sweet potato soufflé, belly laugh and look for signs that her spirit lives on.
