Alison Young, 76, passed away peacefully in Franklin, July 22nd, 2024. A native of San Mateo, CA, Alison was born February 16, 1948, to Charles Homer "Bud" Young and Harriet Loveall Young. She moved to Franklin in 1974 and lived here for 25years. She earned her BA in Music from UCSB and MA in Education from WCU. Alison was a piano teacher and elementary music teacher in 6 of the then area elementary schools. She was a long-time member of and choir director for First United Methodist Church in town.
In 1998, Alison moved to Ashland, Oregon and lived there for 17years. Later she lived in Southern California where she continued her love of tennis and sang in multiple community choirs. Alison returned to Franklin 3yrs ago to be closer to her daughter.
She is survived by her daughter, Joanna Loops, and grandson Rowan Morgan, of Franklin; brothers Bob and Charlie Young, of California. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Susan Young Hardy, and nephew Carson Hardy.
