Alice Ivers Yuzzi, 86, of Franklin, NC, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024.

Alice was born in Rangeley, Maine, to the late Henry John and Angie M. Ivers. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Anthony "Tony" Yuzzi Sr.; son, Anthony Yuzzi Jr.; siblings, Marion Gallo, Clara Lockell, Barrymore Ivers, Brent Ivers, Bruce Ivers, and Walter Ivers.

She was a family educator with Macon Program for Progress Early Start, assistant restaurant manager with her son, Steven, at Papa's Pizza in Cullowhee; and office manager with import/exportation at Port Palm Beach, FL. She helped establish a domestic violence organization called Respect, prior to Reach and volunteered with a theater group. In 1984, five members of St Francis Church in Franklin established a Secular Franciscan fraternity and Alice assisted with this and establishing another fraternity in FL at St Ritas in Margate. She enjoyed painting, artwork, and volunteered at Angel Medical in the Emergency Room. She was a devoted member of St Francis Catholic Church of Franklin since 1972.

She is survived by her son, Steven Yuzzi (Lori); two grandsons, Austin Yuzzi of Westville, FL and Nicholas Yuzzi of Franklin; one granddaughter, Lauren Yuzzi of Waynesville, NC; two great grandchildren, Emma and Cole of Franklin and one step grandson, Adam Viens of Knoxville; siblings, Ann Scimonelli, Nellie Eilertsen, Sandra Marino, Roy Ivers, Peter Ivers (Debra), Janet Mannix, Gloria Breton (David), Bonita Haggan (Tom); sister-in-law, Guyla Ivers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held at 12:30 pm on Thursday, January 18, at St Francis Catholic Church. Father Tien Duong will officiate. The family will receive friends from 11am-12pm at Macon Funeral Home prior to the mass at the church. Burial will be in Rangeley Cemetery in Rangeley, Maine.
