Obituary for Woodrow Norton, Jr.

Robert Woodrow Norton, Jr., 60, of Otto, passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2008.

A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Robert Woodrow Norton, Sr. and Blanche Keener Norton. Woodrow was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Junaluskee Masonic Lodge No. 145 A.F. and A.M. and was a faithful member of the Mulberry United Methodist Church where he served as trustee, song leader and sunday school superintendent. Woodrow loved participating in the Old Engine Shows.

He is survived by a sister, Anita Angel and husband, Furman of Franklin; and a nephew, Furman Angel and wife, Molly of Arden, NC.

Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Binger and Rev. Tom Coss will officiate. Burial will be in the Mulberry United Methodist Church Cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites conducted by Junaluskee Masonic Lodge No. 145 A.F. and A.M.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Thurs., at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Brown, Harold Clark, Fred Barnes, Tim Nicholson, Curtis Allison, and Joey Keener. Honorary Pallbearers will be L. C. Howard, Joe Tippett, Bud Shope, Clay Sams and Bill Sams.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mulberry United Methodist Church, C/O H.D. Irby, 437 Wallalieu Road, Otto, NC 28763.
