Walter H. Metzdorf, 66, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2007.

A native of Anderson, Indiana, he was the son of the late Arthur L. Metzdorf and L. June Tucker Metzdorf. Walter was a retired banker in management; a US Air Force veteran; a Rotarian, receiving the Paul Harris Fellow; and he was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife of forty-three years, Carolyn Bullard Metzdorf of Franklin; one daughter, Christina Lisle of Apopka, FL; nine sons, Steven Metzdorf of Knoxville, TN, Capt. Joseph Metzdorf of Nellis Air Force Base in NV, Jonathan Metzdorf of Bunkerhill, W. VA, Joshua Metzdorf of Knoxville, TN, Staff Sgt. Daniel Metzdorf of Ft. Brag, NC, Staff Sgt. Jacob Metzdorf of Korea, Benjamin Metzdorf of Knoxville, TN, Jeremiah Metzdorf of Tallahassee, FL, and Pvt. 2nd Class Samuel Metzdorf of Ft. Huachuca, AZ; a twin brother, Rev. Gerald J. Metzdorf of Dublin, GA; eight grandchildren, Noah and Jonah Metzdorf, Reece and Reid Lisle, Isaiah and Liam Metzdorf, Maggie Metzdorf, and Gracie Korn; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 23, at Memorial United Methodist Church. Rev. Keith Newell will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, at Macon Funeral Home.
