Obituary for Valerie Sears (Cronkhite)
Elizabeth Valerie Sears, 83, passed away Friday, December 11, 2009 in Comer, GA.
Valerie was born September 28, 1926, in Jacksonville, FL, she graduated from St. Petersburg High School in Florida. She was employed much of her life as a real estate agent in St. Petersburg, FL. She and
her husband, Cy, moved to Franklin, NC, in 1973, where they were first employed as
sales agents for Watauga Vista and later operated Sears Realty and Sears Construction Company for many years. They were active members of St. Francis Catholic Church in Franklin before moving to the Lake Wales area of Florida in about 1997.
Valerie Sears was preceded in death by daughter Denise, a sister Isabel, husband Cy, and parents John and Katherine Cronkhite.
Sears is survived by a brother, John Cronkhite, sons, William of Tavernier, FL, Guy of Comer, GA and Steve of Easley, SC; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 15 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home in Franklin, NC. Father Tien Duong will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
