Thomas Woodlee, 76, of Franklin, NC, passed away on Monday, Sept. 4, 2006.
A native of Spencer, Tenn., he was the son of the late D.C. Woodlee and Kathryn Bouldin Woodlee. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Duaine Meadows Woodlee who died September 6, 2003. Tom was a graduate of the University of South Carolina where he played football. He was a professional football player for the Philadelphia Eagles. He was a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran serving during the Korean War; and was a member of the American Legion Post 108 and the VFW Post 7339. Tom was former mayor and town alderman of Franklin and was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by three children, Rick H. Woodlee of Mountain Home, NC, Carol Arnold of Franklin, NC and Kim Langley of Travelers Rest, SC; one sister, Helen Lorenz of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; one brother, Charles Woodlee of Chattanooga, TN; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 6, at the Church of Christ. Rev. Radford Penland will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, at the church.
