Thomas F. "Tom" Smith, 66, of Franklin, passed away October 25, 2007 after a brief illness.

He was born in Rochester, NY to Florence Smith of Rochester, NY and the late Robert Smith. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Smith. Tom worked in the maintenance department at the Macon County Health Department.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 32 years, Clyda M. Campbell Smith and his beloved dog Poco; son, Thomas Smith and wife Heather of Rochester, NY; daughter Kelly Karllis and husband Karl of Webster, NY; stepdaughter, Carol Spicola of Franklin, NC; stepson, Lawrence Spicola of Rochester, NY; four grandchildren, four step grandchildren, four step great grandchildren; brothers, James Smith and wife Jerry of Ontario ,NY; Greg Smith and wife Ann of Fairport, NY, sisters, Barbara Genrich of Rochester, NY, Lori Flannigan and husband Michael of Hilton, NY; several nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law Edna Campbell of Franklin NC.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, October 29, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Randy Campbell will officiate. Burial will be in the Iotla Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Sunday, October 28 at Macon Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the home of Ken Shepherd.

Pallbearers will be Fred Campbell, Ken Shepherd Jr. ,Mike Shepherd, Steve Sears, Rick Campbell, Brandon Shepherd, Tyler Shepherd, Tanner Shepherd and Cody Campbell.
