Obituary for Thomas Kinsland

Thomas A. Kinsland, 81, of Franklin, entered into rest Thursday, March 17, 2005.

He was a native of Jackson County and the son of the late Thomas and Gertrude Crawford Kinsland. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Grady and Fred Kinsland. He was a US Army WWII veteran, serving in Europe. After service, he worked for Southern Bell for over twenty-five years in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and has been retired in Franklin for over twenty-five years.

He is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Betty Reed Kinsland; one son, Thomas C. Kinsland of Gainesville, FL; two daughters, Patricia Allen of Deerfield Beach, FL and Betty Ann Welch of Franklin; one brother, Clyde Kinsland of Franklin, two grandchildren, Dean Thomas Allen and Brooke Allen of Gainesville, FL.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 21, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Wesley Price will officiate. Burial will be in the Watauga Baptist Church Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 7339 and American Legion Post 108.

The family will receive friends from 1:30p.m. - 2:30 p.m., one hour prior to the Service.

Pallbearers will be Clyde Scott, Tommy Curtis, Ronnie Mason, Harold Scott, Ray Sanders and Jack Dockery.
