Obituary for Thomas Leonard "Tom" Henry

Thomas Leonard "Tom" Henry, 93, of Franklin, entered into rest on Wednesday, November 23, 2005.

A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Jacob W. Henry and Carrie Moses Henry. He was married to the late Pearl Dills Henry who died May 2000 and was preceded in death by two sons, James Henry who died in 1991 and Harley Henry who died in 1942; and 12 brothers and sisters. Tom was a retired timber cutter, farmer and miner and was a member of Ellijay Baptist Church.

He is survived by a son, Jack Henry of Franklin; two daughters, Edith Lopes of Franklin and Joyce Tucker of Pine Creek, NC; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 26, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Rick Potts, Rev. John Henry, and Rev. Johnny Norris will officiate. Burial will be in the Ellijay Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 25, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be John Henry, Bobby Henry, Chris Tucker, Dean Cook, Naaman Henry and Leland Cooper.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Ellijay Baptist Church Building Fund, C/O Wanda Bolick, 81 Woodrows Lane, Franklin, NC 28734.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
