Obituary for Thomas Samuel Bivens
Thomas Samuel Bivens, 55, of Franklin, formerly of Cottonwood AZ, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2007.
Born in Sacramento, CA, he was the son of Mary "Joy" McCorkle Bivens of Bayard, New Mexico and the late Tom Bivens. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the Coast Guard. Thomas was an aircraft mechanic and restaurant owner.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of thirty five years, Deborah Marie Bivens of Franklin; three children, Angela Piper and husband Gary of Franklin, Thomas Samuel Bivens II and wife Yvonne of Germany, and Lisa Draper and husband Frank of Flagstaff, AZ; two brothers, Michael Bivens and wife Luise of Bayard, NM and Lawrence Bivens of Sacramento, CA; eight grandchildren, Brandon, Tanner, Thomas, Gavin, and Cameron Piper, Tommy and Jessica Bivens and Zachary Draper; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 31, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Frank Rodriguez will officiate.
Memorial donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, Piedmont Chapter, Inc.2540 Plantation Center Drive Suite 4B,Matthews, NC 28105; or National MS Society, PO Box 4527,New York, NY 10163.
