Obituary for Shirley R. Ledford (Roane)
Shirley Roane Ledford, 89, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2008.
Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Zeb Roane and Iva Lee Waldroop Roane. She was preceded in death by her husband Skyler Ledford; a sister, Helen Guffie and a brother J.T. Roane. Shirley was a member of Maiden's Chapel United Methodist Church. She loved flowers and gardening.
She is survived by two children, Furman Ledford and wife Emma Lou of Franklin and Jean Griggs and husband Tim of Asheville; one sister, Selma Ledford of Franklin; one brother, Curt Roane of Charleston, SC; four grandchildren, Kent, Sherri, Kevin and Rhonda; and thirteen great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 30, at Maiden's Chapel United Methodist Church. Rev. Tim Griggs will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:00 p.m. Sunday, at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Kent Ledford, Kevin Ledford, Lesley Bryson, Bobby Styles, Gary Taylor and Mitchell Conner.
Memorial donations may be made to the Maiden's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Glenn & Belva Edwards,1081 Jones Creek Rd , Franklin, NC 28734.
