Obituary for Sadie Franks McIntyre (Franks)

Sadie Franks  McIntyre (Franks)
Sadie Franks McIntyre, 89, of Franklin, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2009.

A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Franks and Mary Ellen Shidle Franks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray McIntyre who died in 1992; son, Leo McIntyre who died in 2000; a brother, Grady Franks; a sister, Leah Shuler and a grandson, Tommy McIntyre who died in 2007. Sadie lived in Franklin all her life and owned Franklin Beauty Shop. She was a member of Watauga Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 61 years.

She is survived by three daughters, Dr. Frances McIntyre Bishop and husband Larry, Wanda Baker and husband Norman and Katie Shope and husband Bobby; niece, Sandra McCoy and husband Mike, all of Franklin; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2009 at Watauga Baptist Church. Dr. Wesley Price, Rev. David Lee Williams and Rev. Roy Lowe will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2009 at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Troy Ledford, Ray Sanders, Harold Scott Jr, Max Gladwell, Lee Garner, Ronnie Mason, Horace Hurst and Mitchell Bishop.

Sadie’s Adult Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
