Obituary for Russell Joseph Johnson

Russell Joseph Johnson, 74, of Franklin, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2006.
Born in St. Croix Falls, Minn. and a native of Milltown, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late Oscar Joseph Johnson and Emily Schultz Johnson. Russell retired from the US Air Force; was a member of Longview Baptist Church serving as deacon, Sunday school superintendent and choir member; and was a Mason in the Strict Observance Lodge in Charleston, SC.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Blanche Brown Johnson; daughter, Rhonda Gail Johnson White and fiancé, Frank E. White of Dublin, Ohio ; two brothers, Roger D. Johnson of Olympia, Washington and William E. Johnson of Milltown, Wisconsin; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, December 1, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Nicholas O. Smith, Rev. Johnny M. Lee, Rev. James F. Johnson and Rev. Vic Greene will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
Graveside Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 3, at the Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Charleston, SC. Rev. Tom Brown will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, December 2, at J. Henry Stuhr Funeral Home, Charleston, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Angel Hospice Foundation, PO Box 815, Franklin, NC 28744.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the local arrangements.
