Obituary for Roger Joseph Charest
Roger Joseph Charest, 78, of Franklin, passed away Friday, July 4, 2008.
Born in Manchester, NH, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Malvina Carrier Charest. He was preceded in death by his first wife Lucille; two sisters, Germaine Soucie and Yvonne Methot and a brother, Omer Charest. Roger was a member of the U.S. National Guard and owned R.J. Charest Construction Co. in Florida. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Franklin, NC.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Glenda Charest; son, Roger “Butch” Charest, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; three step children, Denise Lapides and husband Victor of North Miami, FL, David S. Gomont of Hialeah, FL and Joseph H. Gomont of South, FL; one sister, Rita Lavallee of Hollywood, FL.; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
No Services are planned at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. John’s Episcopal Church Memorial Gardens, 542 St. John’s Church Road, Franklin, NC 28734 or Angel Hospice General Fund, 170 Church Street, Franklin, NC 28734.
