Obituary for Robert Jackson ""Bob"" Barnett

Robert Jackson Barnett, of Franklin, NC, entered into rest on his 85th birthday, Wednesday, October 26, 2005.

A native of Sandy Ridge, PA, he was the son of the late Roy Joseph Barnett and Lyda Felton Barnett. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 1 sister. Robert was a U.S. veteran of WWII. He was Dean of Division of Arts and Humanities at Bridgewater State College. Robert was a member of the Rotary Club of Ocala, FL and Franklin, NC serving as a Board of Director; member of MRMC Pillar; past chairman of Monroe Foundation; member of the Retired Officers Assoc.; and a member of the Appleton Museum of Art Docent-Business Partners. He served as a Board of Director of the Arts Council of Macon County.

He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Betty Kissel Barnett; one daughter, Kristina Louise Barnett of Vernon, CT; one grandson, Christopher Melenovsky; two step daughters, Linda Dole and Mary Anne Gaffney both of New York; two step sons, Thomas Redmond of Clover, SC and Michael Redmond of Salt Springs, FL.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home.
