Rev. Frank "Harry" Garner, 74, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2008.
Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Marvin Garner and Elsie Crunkleton Garner. Harry was a U.S. Army veteran and worked in construction in Highlands for many years. He pastored several churches in Macon and Swain County. He was a member of Central Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Thelma Tillson Garner; two children, Mark Garner and wife Sharon of Franklin and Elizabeth Jenkins and husband Terry of Franklin; two sisters, Mary Jones of Franklin and Annette Mills of Virginia; three brothers, Charles Garner of SC, Allen Garner of Sylva and Lee Garner of Franklin; four grandchildren, James and Shannon Jenkins and Michael and Cheyenne Carson; eight great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Wayne Adkisson, Rev. Terry Jenkins and Rev. Wayne Price will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the VFW Post 7339 and the American Legion Post 108.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 7, at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Cheyenne Carson, Roger Plemens, Isaac Gibson, James Jenkins, Shannon Jenkins, Joe Hillard and Eric Jenkins.
