Ralph Monroe Henson, 92, of Otto, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009.

Born in Macon Co. he was the son of the late Lonnie Monroe Henson and Ora Adaline Norris Henson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maureen Thompson Henson; two sisters, Maybur Norton and Katherine Henson and brother, Calvin Henson. Ralph was a US Army Air Corps Veteran, serving during WWII. He was a car salesman for Conley Motor Company; a member of the American Legion Post 108 and was an ardent student of history and politics. In his 80’s he wrote a published book called “The History of Otto, NC”. Ralph was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.

He is survived by three sons, Ronald C. Henson and wife Ann Dobbs of New Bern, NC, Gary S. Henson and wife Denise of Lawrenceville, GA and Ralph Henson Jr. and wife Evelyn E. of Otto; a daughter, Sharon H. Angel of Suwanee, GA; two sisters, Helen Grant of Asheville and Roberta Palmer of Goose Creek, SC; a brother, Gilmer Henson of Otto; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 22, at Asbury United Methodist Church. Rev. Michael Binger and Rev. Janet Greene will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jeb Huckabee, David Norton, Rick Norton, Geoff Henson, Brandon Henson and Brannon McGioboney.
