Obituary for Phillip Wayne Potter

Phillip Wayne Potter, 68, of Franklin, entered into rest on Friday, September 9, 2005.

A native of Ocala, Florida, he was the son of the late Walter Harrison Potter and Jessie Mae Godwin Potter. He was a US Air Force veteran and retired after 38 years from the US Dept. of Interior where he worked as a geological surveyor at the Stennis Space Center, Bay St. Louis, Miss. He was a member of Long Beach Baptist Church in Long Beach, Mississippi

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carolyn B. Potter; two children, Wayne Glenn Potter and wife Linda of Pearl, Miss. and Nancy Lynn Lucas of Purvis, Miss.; one sister, Polly Potter of Morristown, TN; three grandchildren, Christopher and Emily Potter and Adam Lucas; one great grandchild, Kaitlyn.

Private services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Macon County Unit, PO Box 1648, Franklin, NC 28744.
