Obituary for Philip Hazazer

Philip Ryder Hazazer, 94, of Franklin, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2009.

Born in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late Edgar P. Hazazer and Elizabeth A. Ryder Hazazer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Helen and a brother, Billy. Philip was a pilot, adventurer, writer, tool and die maker, real-estate developer, inventor and businessman. He and his wife have lived in Franklin since 1964.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maysel W. Blue Hazazer; two sons, Dan and wife Barbara and Kip all of Franklin; seven grandchildren, Martha Fyfe, Nancy S. Hutchinson, Kate Coin, Jonathan Hazazer, Robert Stoup, Darlene R. Hazazer and Scarlett L. Hazazer; eight great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Memorial donations can be made to Angel Hospice General Fund, 170 Church Street, Franklin, NC 28734.
