Obituary for Pauline Couts (Rogers)

Pauline Rogers Couts, 77, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2006.

Born in Rabun County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Hicks Rogers and Bertha Eller Rogers. She was married to the late Willis Couts who died in 2000 and was preceded in death by five brothers, Marvin, Floyd, Guy, Verlon and Wayne Rogers. She retired from Smoky Mountain Mental Health Clinic where she worked as a C.N.A. Pauline attended First Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Houston Grist and husband Bobby of Tifton, GA and Dianne Houston Van Valkenburg and husband David of Kennesaw, GA; one sister, Mildred Smith of Seneca, SC; five grandchildren, Kyle Grist, Derek Grist and wife Amy, Christopher Van Valkenburg, Amanda Van Valkenburg and Emily Van Valkenburg; one great grandchild, Mason Grist; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 18, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Tom Grubb will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, December 17, at Macon Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made to First Assembly of God or the American Cancer Society.
