Obituary for Paula Kelly Calaway (Williams)

Paula Kelly Williams Calaway, 64, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2007.

A native of Raleigh, NC, she was the daughter of Mary Kelly Williams and the late John Williams. Paula was a homemaker, "and Navy wife". She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Franklin, singing in the choir and former Sunday School Teacher; and she also sang in the community choir.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 41 years, Bernie Lee Calaway; two children, Brian Calaway of Charlotte, NC, and Kelly Friedman of Silver Springs, MD; one brother, John Ashley Williams of Richmond, VA; one sister, Mary Lindsey Mayo of Charlottesville, VA; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 1, at the First Baptist Church. Rev. Harold Ball and Rev. Jim Dusek will officiate. Burial will be in the Black Mountain VA Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, January 31, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Mike Norris, Al Fredman, David Corbin, Frank Vinson, Jim Ledford, and Jim Ballew.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve and Mary Beth Houston, Dale West, Larry Schrock, David English, Jewel Quinn, Larry and Sharon Calaway, and Jan Unger.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, 69 Iotla Street, Franklin, NC 28734 of Angel Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 815, Franklin, NC 28744.
