Otelia “Tilly“ Haskett Higdon, 87, of Franklin, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2008.
Born in Macon County, she grew up in the Mountain Grove Community. She was the daughter of the late Levi Haskett and Alice Parker Haskett. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, T.B. Higdon; brothers, Jim Haskett and J.D. Haskett and sisters, Mary Elliot and Ethel Moore. Tilly graduated from Tomassee High School and became a homemaker. Tilly was an active member of Higdonville Baptist Church and member of Higdonville Home Extension Club.
She is survived by three children, Brenda Lovelace of Franklin, Thomas G. Higdon of Winston Salem, NC and Phillip H. Higdon of Franklin; one brother, Bill Haskett of Wenatchee, WA; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a number of nieces of nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2008 at Higdonville Baptist Church. Rev. Mack Hutson and Rev. Terry Dixon will officiate. Burial will be in the Higdonville Baptist Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Dwayne Lovelace, Jacob Higdon, Casey Higdon, Tim Higdon, Bo Higdon and Denton Higdon.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to the Higdonville Church Cemetery Fund C/O Harold Rayborn, 1459 Cat Creek Rd, Franklin.
