Nancy Angel Russell, 73, of Franklin, stepped into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 12, 2009.

A native of Macon County, she was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Oliatta Potts Angel and her husband of 51 years, Sutton Russell. She retired from the Rabun County School System with over 25 years as a first grade teacher. She was an active member of First Assembly of God serving as a board member, in music ministry, prison ministry and in any capacity needed. She shared her love of Jesus with many persons and was a shining example of Christianity for all who came in contact with her.

She is survived by three children, Angie Kinsland and husband Paul of Franklin, Vicki Gregory of Spartanburg, SC and Michelle Denise Russell of Franklin; brother, Elbert “Bud” Angel of Nantahala; sister, Alice Ranta Owens and husband Harry of Indiana; five grandchildren, Nicki Tallent and husband Chuck, Amanda Hofrichter and husband Gabe, Justin Kinsland, Kari Conard and Courtney Gregory; ten great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 16, at First Assembly of God. Rev. Stephen Evans, Rev. Gerald Collins and Rev. Victor Greene will officiate. Burial will be in the Clarks Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Josh Blanton, Jordan Tallent, Joe Doster, Junior Tallent, Paul Gregory and Charlie McClain.
