Obituary for Matthew Elihue "Benny" Patten

Matthew Elihue "Benny"  Patten
Patten and Alma Chandler Patten. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brother, Harold A. Hutson. Benny was owner of Patten’s Honey Bees and a beekeeper for 40 years. He graduated from Dan McCarty High School in 1962 and moved to Franklin from Ft. Pierce, FL in 2004. He was an avid John Deere Collector. Benny was a member of Franklin Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sandra Lee Stewart Patten; Daughter, Trina Fay Neilson and husband Matthew of Vero Beach, FL; one brother, Rev. Charles Mack Hutson of Franklin; three sisters, OnedaWilliams of Longwood, FL, Doris Franklin of Campobello, SC and Mona Bishop of Panama City, FL and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Franklin Church of Christ. Brother Radford Penland, Rev. Mack Hutson and Ottis Qualls will officiate. Burial will be in the Prentiss Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 16, 2008 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jack Hebb, Brandon Baughman, Benji Baughman, Tommy Johnson, Mike Steiert and Jacob Stewart II.
John Crawford, Jake Stewart, Brown Johnson and Russ Jones will serve as Honorary Pallbearers, with Special Honorary Pallbearer, Brad Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Mt. Dora Christian Home and Bible School.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
