Obituary for Mary T. Vogt (Russell)

Mary T. Russell Kistler Vogt , 95, formerly of West Mifflin, PA passed away Saturday, February 17, 2007 at her daughter’s home in Franklin, NC.

Born March 31, 1911, in Homestead, PA, Mrs. Vogt was a member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, and Chapter 139 Order of the Eastern Star in Homestead, PA.

Daughter of the late James and Mary Russell, she is preceded in death by her husbands Robert William Kistler who passed away in 1957 and Arnold Vogt who passed away in 1978.

She was retired elementary school teacher of the West Mifflin Area School District, where she taught for 32 years and was a graduate of Slippery Rock University, Slippery Rock, Pa.

She is survived by her daughter Carol Jean Fritz and husband George R. Fritz, Jr. of Franklin NC; son Robert Russell Kistler and wife Ruth Sekura Kistler of Glassport PA; former daughter-in-law Betty E. Kistler of Franklin, NC., a step-son, William Vogt of Surf City, NJ; brother George Russell of Florida; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 8 step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Homestead, PA on Saturday, March 31, 2007.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth
Avenue, 6th Floor, New York, NY 10001 and to St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 336 East Tenth Avenue, Homestead, PA 15120.
