Obituary for Mary Lou Salain (Burrell)

Mary Lou Burrell Salain, 84, of Franklin, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2007.

Born in Habersham County, GA, she was the daughter of the late W.C. Burrell and Dexter Forrester Burrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Salain who died in 1984 and a sister, Oma Lee Burrell. Mary Lou was a member of First Baptist Church; was a beloved mother, grandmother and was a friend to many and will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by three daughters, Deborah Lee Salain and husband Bob Nichols of Scaly Mountain, Rita Salain and husband Bill Deck of Decatur, GA and Mary Lou "LuLu” Salain Miller and husband David Miller of Franklin; one granddaughter, Stephanie Elizabeth Williams and husband Mike Williams of Franklin; three great grandsons, Sam Vinson, Luke Vinson and Jake Williams; brother, Sonny Burrell of Franklin; two sisters, Joann Poindexter of Franklin and Jean McKelvey of Stone Mountain, GA; and two nephews, Woody Berrong and Mark Peacock.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 6, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Vic Greene will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Friday, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be David Miller, Bob Nichols, Bill Deck, Mike Williams, Woody Berrong and Mark Peacock.
