Elizabeth Swafford, 92, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2007.

A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Poindexter and Launa Barnard Poindexter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Swafford who died in 1983; one son, Paul Newell Swafford; two brothers, R.L. Poindexter and Verlon Poindexter; and one sister, Evelyn Swafford. Elizabeth was an active member of Iotla Baptist Church serving as director of the WMU and member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class.

She is survived by a son, Charles Swafford of Franklin; two daughters, Mary Jo Campbell of Franklin and Annette Busby of Raleigh; three sisters, Inez West of Brevard, Amelia Newson of Austell, GA, Ruth Hornesby of Columbia, SC; two brothers, James Poindexter of Hanford, CA and Ed Poindexter of Brevard; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 19, at Iotla Baptist Church. Rev. Steve Reeves and Rev. Jeff King will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Monday, at the church.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Campbell, David Broadway, John Hoyle, Ben Swafford, Bob Poindexter and Isaac Campbell.
