Marvin “John” Gordon, 84, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2009.
Born in Palmer, IN, he was the son of the late Earl John Gordon and Bertha Podeis Gordon. He was a US Army Veteran and served during WWII. John loved to golf; played the drums for Cornerstone Trio and the Moonlighters; loved animals and was a good man. He was a member of the American Legion Post 108 and charter member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Alice Bradford Gordon of Franklin; two daughters, Cathy Gordon of Tuscan, AZ and Mary Gordon of Lincolnton, NC; step-son, Colin Harvey of Fairfield, IL; two grandchildren, Patrick Harvey and Robert Gordon and great grandson, Lane Harvey.Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2009 at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church. Rev. Ron Odum will officiate with military rites conducted by the VFW Post 7339 and the American Legion Post 108.
