Obituary for Martha Edith Hunnicutt (Rickman)

Martha Edith  Hunnicutt (Rickman)
Martha “Edith” Rickman Hunnicutt, 87, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2010, eleven days short of her 88th birthday.

Born in Macon Co. she was the daughter of the late Early Oscar Rickman and Sissie Mason Rickman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Cathey. During their early life together, she and her husband Charles with their three sons lived in Washington, DC, Utah, Idaho and Alabama, finally settling in Gainesville, GA until they retired to Franklin in 1978. Edith was an Elementary School Teacher for many years in Hall County, GA. She enjoyed creative activities such as painting, sewing and crafts. She attended Liberty Baptist Church and Cowee Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Charles R. Hunnicutt; three sons, Richard C. Hunnicutt and wife Jayne of Franklin, Joseph E. Hunnicutt and wife Colleen of Charlotte, NC and Howard J. Hunnicutt and wife Elizabeth of Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, James McNabb Hunnicutt and wife Brandi, Patrick Michael Hunnicutt and Christopher Neil Hunnicutt; great grandchildren, Kellen Rex Hunnicutt and Agatha Kathleen Hunnicutt and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 20 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
