Obituary for Martha L. Craig (Howard)

Martha L. Howard Craig, 74, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2008.
Born in Macon Co. she was the daughter of the late Lawrence C. Howard Sr. and Beatrice Crunkleton Howard. She graduated from Franklin High School and attended Western Carolina University. Martha worked at Clayburn Manufacturing as the Payroll Clerk. She loved her cats, reading and sharing books with friends; puzzles, calling brother and sister to figure out clues, flower gardening and watching the birds and squirrels in her yard. An ardent Clemson Tiger fan, she spent hours preparing for and enjoying tailgating with family and friends who always brought company. She was an avid basketball fan. Martha was a member of Mulberry United Methodist Church for 61 years; serving in many capacities including Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Counselor and Membership Secretary.
She is survived by her husband of 49 ½ years, Jack Craig; two sons, Gregory Craig and wife Gretchen of Easley, SC and Michael Craig and wife Donna of Marshall, NC; one brother, LC Howard and wife Margaret of Franklin; three sisters, Betty Huffman and husband John of Otto, Mary Lee Howard of Hiawassee, GA and Nancy Owen and husband Gurlie of Brevard and three grandchildren, Andrew Craig, Emily Craig and Wyatt Craig.
Funeral Service will be Friday, August 22, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Mulberry United Methodist Church, 155 Mulberry Rd. Otto, NC 28763. Burial will be in the Mulberry United Methodist Cemetery. Rev. Michael Binger, Rev. Tom Coss and Rev. Vic Greene will be officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Craig, Buck Craig, Greg Long, Eric Owen, Robert Covington, Paul Martin, Daryl Whitt and Westy Westmoreland.
