Anita Ammons Bateman Wages, 64, of Franklin, NC, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2006.

A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Richard Ralph Ammons and Edith Faye Hughes Ammons. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 47 years, Mack "Bud" Bateman who died in 2004. Anita was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and attended First Christian Church of Franklin.

She is survived by her husband, Coleman Wages; two children, Connie Bateman Pendergrass of Franklin and Gary Mack Bateman formerly of Franklin; two sisters, Loretta Moore of Franklin, NC and Faye Needham of Dobson, NC; two brothers, J.R. Ammons of Franklin, NC and Everette Earl Ammons of Bakersfield, CA; five grandchildren, Dustin Pendergrass, Amanda Anita Bateman, Eagle Mack Bateman, Aiko Cheyenne Bateman and Brett Alan Pendergrass; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, September 18, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Henry Puckett, Rev. Alton Dendy and Rev. Josh Brooks will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, September 17, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Bob Golding, Chuck Moore, Dustin Pendergrass, Jeffrey Ammons, Bruce Mason, David Cheek and Eddie Bateman.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Christian Church of Franklin, 156 Belleview Park Rd, PO Box 1948, Franklin, NC 28744.
