Lynette M. Tallent, 88, of Franklin, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2008. Born in Macon Co. she was the daughter of the late Joseph Floyd Martin and Leola Raby Martin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Martin. Lynette was a telephone operator and a life long resident of Franklin. She was a member of Iotla Baptist Church. She is survived by her spouse of 63 years, R.L. Tallent; two children, Rhonda Tallent Davis of Nashville, TN and Shelly Moffitt of Franklin; four grandchildren, Joe Moffitt of Mt. Dora, FL, Justin Moffitt and Luke Moffitt both of Franklin and Jeff Tallent of Charlotte, NC; three great-gradchildren, Avery, Caden and Gentry Moffitt; one nephew, Dennis Martin and several great nieces and great nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Iotla Baptist Church. Rev. Steve Reeves, Rev. Don Moffitt and Dr. Simeon Martin will officiate. Private Graveside Services will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Iotla Baptist Church from 12-2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Pallbearers will be, Joe Moffitt, Jeff Tallent, Justin Moffitt, Luke Moffitt, Dick Wallace and Dickie Gibson. Caroll Tallent will serve as Honorary Pallbearer.
