Obituary for Louise Elizabeth Ledford (Blaine)

Louise Elizabeth Blaine Ledford, 84, of Franklin, entered into rest Friday, August 19, 2005.

A native and life long resident of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late David Wilson Blaine and Maude Green Blaine. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Gray, who was killed in combat during WWII; her second husband, Oscar Ledford, who died November 28, 2003; and two brothers, Norman and Doyle Blaine. Louise graduated from the Women's Business College, and worked as a Secretary/Bookkeeper for local lawyers, the US Forest Service and for their local business, Franklin Frozen Food for a number of years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by two children, Kim Ledford and fiance Tom McQuarrie of Raleigh, NC, and Jim Ledford and wife Dawn C. Ledford of Franklin; two grandsons, Ben and Jacob Ledford of Franklin; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, at the First Baptist Church.
Rev. Harold Ball and Rev. Jim Dusek will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Ben Ledford, Jacob Ledford, Joey Wilson, Dustin Pendergrass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Children's Home Society of N.C., 740 Chestnut Street, P.O. Box 14608, Greensboro, NC 27415; or Baptist Children's Home of N.C., P.O. Box 638, Thomasville, NC 27361.
