Lillian McConnell, 84, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2008 in Charlotte.

Born in Flat Creek, NC, she was the daughter of the late John Baxter Roberts and Mary Lois McKenzie Roberts. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma and Melba and two brothers, James and Charles. Before moving to Franklin, she worked at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville and Stoney Knob Dairy Bar in Weaverville. After moving to Franklin she worked at Desoto Trail Restaurant, City Restaurant and Sunset Restaurant. Lillian was a member of Hickory Knoll United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Steve McConnell; daughter, Mary Lou Conrad Dalton and husband Elwin Dalton of Concord, NC; three granddaughters, Karen Lynne Golie and husband Rick, Kristel Leigh Swayze and husband Ken and Karolyn Leslie Rogers and husband Allen all of Concord, NC; seven great grandchildren, Sarah, Hannah, Nathan, Mary, William, Ryann and Dalton; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Hoglen and Bessie Seay and husband James both of Franklin; and seventeen nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, at Hickory Knoll United Methodist Church. Rev. Paul Sears will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, October 27, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Bill Gallman, Larry Conley, Carl Alexander, John Wilde, Ed Carpenter and Bobby Key.
