Obituary for Lewis Cansler

Furman "Lewis" Cansler, 77, of Franklin, entered into rest, Wednesday, January 19, 2005.

A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Zeb and Hallie Tippett Cansler. He was married to the late Mary Will Henson Cansler who died in 1995. Lewis was a member of Iotla Baptist Church. He loved to witness and gave out hundreds of red glass drops in remembrance of Christ blood. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He most recently was employed by Franklin Ford.

He is survived by a daughter, Lynne Cansler Ledbetter and husband Lewis of White Lake MI; a son, John Cansler and wife Monica of Franklin; a brother, Bill Cansler and wife Ruby of Franklin; four grandchildren, Melany Jarjosa of White Lake, MI, Michelle Buwa of Waterford, MI, Matthew Ledbetter of Pontiac, MI and Ethan Cansler of Franklin; and three great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 22, at Iotla Baptist Church. Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

The John Campbell Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
