Obituary for Leonard F. Burr

Leonard F.  Burr
Leonard F. Burr, 80, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2010.

Born in Stoneham, MA, he was the son of the late Thomas Burr and Emily Hines. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Bertwell Burr who passed away in 2006; a son, Daniel Burr; five brothers and sisters; a grandson and a great grandchild. Leonard worked for the Pentagon; was a US Army Veteran having worked for Army Intelligence and was a member of the American Legion. Leonard was a retired attorney. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.

He is survived by three daughters, Mary Leto of Wisconsin, Kathleen Craig and husband Ray of Rockledge, FL and Jane Cipolla and husband John of Otto; three sons, Michael Burr of Goshen, AL, Larry Burr and wife Darlene of Luverne, AL and Martin Burr of Troy, AL; a brother, Ned Burr of Stoneham, MA; many grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 25, at St. Francis Catholic Church. Father Tien Duong will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery with military rites conducted by the VFW Post 7339 and the American Legion Post 108.

A Gathering of Friends will follow the service at the American Legion.

Memorial donations can be made to the American Legion Scholarship Fund.
