Obituary for Lawrence Henry Long, Jr.

Lawrence Henry Long, Jr., 71, of Franklin, formerly of Tucker, GA, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2007.

A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Lawrence H. Long, Sr. and Annie Laura Sprinkle Long. He retired from Atlanta Drug Transport Inc. where he worked as a Supervisor. He attended Central Baptist Church and was a former Boy Scout Leader.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Long of Tucker, GA; first wife, Jacqueline Raby of Michigan; children, Kathy Parker and husband Neal, Elaine Vaughn and husband Clayton and Jan Cabe and husband Terry all of Franklin, Kevin Long and wife Sandra of Linwood, NC and Tim Long of Tucker, GA; three sisters, Laura Belle Guffie and husband Zeb Guffie, Jr., Louise Roper and Barbara Mashburn and husband Bruce all of Franklin; brother, Eddie Long and wife Devannah of Franklin; five grandchildren, Amy Parker, Jennifer Parker Wolfe, Patrick Cabe, Brooks Long and Clay Long; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 19, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Judson Hall will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Friday, one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be James Guffie, Jerry Guffie, Jimmy Hall, Steve Roper, John Brown, Lloyd Mashburn and Jason Smith.
