Larry "Jack" Revis, Sr., 68, of Franklin, passed away Sat., January 19, 2008.

Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Robert Lon Revis and beloved mother, Amy Bumgarner Revis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracy Lee Revis; three brothers, Howard, Paul and Bruce and sister, Georgia Coltrane. Jack worked at the A&P Grocery Store for many years and was co-owner of Carolina Distributors. He was an active member of Cowee Baptist Church where he was Deacon Emeritus, member of the choir, taught the Men's C Sunday School Class and served on several other committees. He was an avid golfer and sports fan.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Nancy Breedlove Revis; two children, Larry Revis, Jr. and wife Gayle of Raleigh, NC and Mollie Robinson and husband Marcus of Cherokee, NC; three brothers, Kenneth Revis and wife Peggy, Johnny Revis and Olen Revis and wife Gail all of Sylva; four sisters, Inez Bradsher of Burlington, NC, Phoebe Hooper and husband Harrell of Cullowhee, NC, Betty Taylor and husband Jim of Baton Rouge, LA and Shirley Moses of Sylva; six grandchildren, Aimee Revis, Drew Revis, Dalen Revis, Audrey Revis, Preston Robinson and Revis Robinson; beloved father-in-law, Ferris Breedlove; brother-in-law Bub Breedlove; sisters-in-law, Kay Griffin and husband Everett and Libby Burril and husband Les; golfing buddy, James Garrett; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, January 20, at Cowee Baptist Church. Rev. Lloyd Fish and Rev. Jim Dusek will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Pallbearers will be James Garrett, Mike McCall, Terry Dalton, Tony Sutton (representing Harold Sutton), Drew Revis, Ernest Childers and Richard Burnette. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Men's C Sunday School Class.
