Obituary for Koa Zane Highhouse

Koa Zane Highhouse, infant son of Melissa Highhouse, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023.

Koa was born in Greer, SC on October 28, 2022. He was a very sweet and smiley baby, who loved his moma, toys, eating, music/dancing, and bubble baths. He was advanced for his age and was reaching milestones well before expected.

Koa is survived by his mother, Melissa Highhouse of Greer, SC; grandmother, Lindsay Highhouse (Jeff) of Greer, SC; grandfather, Daniel Highhouse of Sheffield, PA; great grandparents, Dana Stiles Sutton of Jacksonville, FL, Jill Tate (Randy) of Franklin, NC, and Mark Mehaffey of Otto, NC; great great grandparents, Linda Green Penland of Franklin, NC, Ann and Zeb Mehaffey of Franklin, NC, and Dan and Marti Stiles of Waynesville, NC; uncles, Jacob (Catherine), Ethan, and Joshua all of Greer, SC; Hope Rathburn and her daughter, Madison of Candler, NC; great aunt, Ashley Pierre Paul; great uncle, Aaron Sutton of Asheville, NC; great aunt, Melissa Frazier (Roger) of Aldie, VA; great aunt, Amanda Green (Jonathan) of Marshall, NC; and great uncle, Cooper Greenwood of Clayton, GA. Special extended family, including Sabrina Gunter and Dennis Hayes, both of Candler, NC, and numerous other cousins and family members also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be at 3pm on Sunday, May 21, 2023, in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in the Louisa Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2pm to 3pm, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Sutton and Jacob Penley.
