Obituary for Kenneth Eugene Roper

Kenneth Eugene Roper, 79, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2006.

A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Orpha Roper and Beulah Yonce Roper. Kenneth was a retired carpenter and was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret Bryant Roper; three children, Don Roper of Greensboro, NC, Diane Roper and Dora Moses both of Franklin; five brothers, Earl and J.D. Roper both of Franklin, Wayne Roper of Indiana, Mack Roper of Sylva and Burt Roper of Greensboro; one sister, Betty Canter of Greensboro; three grandchildren, Mark Roper, Brianne Moses and Courtney Moses; one great grandson, Logan Roper; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 12, at Oakdale Baptist Church. Rev. Guy Duvall will officiate. Burial will be in the Roper Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, December 11, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Randy Roper, Mark Roper, Johnny Roper, Gary Roper, Kent Roper and Sandy Swafford.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
