Johnnie Bruce Johnson, 70, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2009, at his residence. Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Willard Johnson and Nina Duvall Johnson. Johnnie was a member of West Franklin Church, was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing and hunting and cutting fire wood. He worked for many years as a cable splicer and also with the NC State Bridge crew and retired from Whitley Products. He will be sadly missed by family and many close friends. He is survived by his wife Carolyn May Price Fitch Johnson; two step sons, Raymond Fitch and wife Teresa of Otto and Byron Fitch and Cindy Dills of Franklin; six grandchildren, Joshua Fitch, Kyler Fitch, Kayla Fitch, Benjamin Fitch, Maria Dills Keyworth and Becky Dills; and two great grandchildren, Gabriel Fitch and Hannah Fitch.
A Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 22, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Clifford Patterson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service. Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
