Obituary for John Allyn Miller
John Allyn Miller, 60, passed away Tuesday, December 18,2007.
Born in Rochester, New York, he was the son of Dr. Charles V. Miller and the late Ann Amelia Clark Miller. He was a self-employed professional photographer based in Asheville for 15 years.
He was a retired Vietnam-era U.S. Army veteran, member of the Mill Creek Men's Golf Association, and a former member of the Manhattan Sailing Club in New York. Prior to relocating to Franklin, John was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church in Asheville, NC.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, The Rev. Dorrie Pratt; two
children, Charles Jason Miller and wife Sarah of Gaston, NC, Elisabeth Miller of Wilmington, NC ; and five grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, December 22, 2007, 11:00 a.m. at St. Cyprians
Episcopal Church. The Rt. Rev. Porter Taylor, Bishop of the Diocese of Western North Carolina will officiate.
Memorials may me made to Care Net, 130 Bidwell Street, Franklin, NC 28734; St. Agnes Episcopal Church or St. Cyprians Episcopal Church. Mailing address for both churches is 84 Church Street, Franklin, NC 28734.
