Obituary for John Richard Miller

John Richard Miller, 85, of Franklin, passed away Monday, November 27, 2006.

A native of Marion, Ohio, he was the son of the late Clyde M. and Edna L. Bader Miller. He was preceded in death by six sisters, and a grandson, Matthew Klonkowski. Mr. Miller was a general contractor in construction and commercial building; a WWII veteran of the US Navy and belonged to the Naval Reserve; a member of the Brasstown Wood Turners Association; and was of the Methodist faith.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Geraldine Miller; two children, John R. Miller, II and wife Becke of Sedona, AZ, and Kay Bea Klonkowski and husband Laurel, Jr. of Franklin; three grandchildren, Jason Klonkowski of Duluth, GA, Christine Haynes of Phoenix, AZ, and Jeffrey Miller of Springdale, AK; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 1, at Rush Cemetery. Rev. Gary McCoy will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Angel Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 815, Franklin, NC 28744.
