Obituary for John W. Lenoir

John W. Lenoir, 84, of Franklin, NC, formerly of Riverview, Michigan, entered into rest on Friday, December 30, 2005.

A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Ben B. Lenoir and Corrinne Huckaby Lenoir. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Leon, J.B. and Bill. John was a US Army veteran of WWII and retired after 30 years from Cadillac Motors where he worked as an inspector. He was a member of the VFW Post 7339, American Legion Post 108 and Junaluskee Masonic Lodge No. 145 AF&AM, Franklin, NC and was a member of the American Legion Post 389 and the Rubicon Masonic Lodge No. 495 in Michigan.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Willette Reynolds Lenoir; three sons, John Lenoir of Riverview, Michigan, Michael Lenoir of Ballground, GA and Jerry Lenoir of Black Mountain, NC; one brother, Benny Lenoir of Franklin; seven sisters, Ada Florence Leatherwood, Virginia Ramey, Mary Wallace, Marie Holland, Shirley Waldroop and Jody Sellers all of Franklin and Nell Harrison of Dahlonega, GA ; two grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 2, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Don Moffitt and Rev. Wiley Gibson will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the VFW Post 7339, the American Legion Post 108 and the Junaluskee Masonic Lodge No. 145.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Monday, prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.

The Junaluskee Masonic Lodge No. 145 will serve as Pallbearers.
