Obituary for Jim Himschoot

Jim Himschoot, 82, of Franklin, entered into rest Thursday, January 13, 2005.

A native of Brooklyn, Iowa, he was the son of the late August and Mildred Brush Himschoot. In addition his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Himschoot, who died in 2002. He was a self-employed electrician; a member of St. Francis Catholic Church; a choir director for over 60 years and a member of Knights of Columbus, and avid tennis player; and he was actively involved with Macon Program for Progress Volunteer House and Habitat for Humanity; a US Air Force World War II Veteran, and member of the American Legion.

He is survived by four children, Becky Hamilton, Marie Cook, and William Himschoot, all of Franklin, and Dotti Currier of Ft. Myers, FL; three sisters, Rita Knauss and Lori Van Waus, both of Ft. Myers, FL, and Dolores Molter of Naples, FL, one brother, Paul Himschoot of Colorado; and ten grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 17, at St. Francis Catholic Church. Father Matthew Kauth will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, January 16, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Joseph Cook, Chad Cook, Heath Currier, Tristan Currier, Craig Currier, Greg Himschoot, and Zack Himschoot. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Knights of Columbus.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Francis Catholic Church, 303 Maple Street, Franklin, NC 28734.
