Obituary for James Lewis Miller
James Lewis Miller, 90, of Scaly Mountain, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2020.
Born in Persimmon, GA, he was the son of the late Frank and Cora Octa Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin sister, Daisy Miller Brown; siblings, Helen Miller Brown, Mae Miller, John Flavis Miller, Janie Louise Miller Dockery, Margaret Lorane Miller, Ruth Miller Corpening, Esther Miller Garrett Hill; half siblings, Ruby Jeanette Miller Mason, William David Arrie Miller and Anna Bell Miller Mason. He was a member of Scaly Mountain Church of God and enjoyed Blue Grass and Gospel Music. James was a farmer and enjoyed time spent outdoors with his livestock and working the land. He was a gentle giant and loved his family immensely.
James is survived by his wife of 68 years, Hazel Wood Miller; sister, Naomi Miller Johnston and niece that was more like a sister Loretta Norris as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 2 pm, Wednesday, November 25, at Macon Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Bates officiating.
