Obituary for James Roy Mason

James Roy Mason, 68, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2007.

A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Roy and Christine Roper Mason. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Gene Monroe Mason, Marion Willard Mason, Clyde Ernest Mason and Howard Thomas Mason. James was a U.S. Navy veteran; was a carpenter; and loved music, ginseng hunting, fishing and rockhounding.

He is survived by his companion, Floy Patterson Mason; four children, Janie Mason of Tennessee, Peggy Mason of Franklin, Jenny Baird of Cullowhee and Tammy Mason of Franklin; two step children, Coleman and Willard Dills both of Franklin; sister, Cora Lee Campbell of Franklin; brother, Marvin Mason of Franklin; eleven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Johnny Norris, Rev. Barry Bowman and Rev. George Patterson will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, at Macon Funeral Home.
